The Issues and My Platform
When we win, this is what I will do!
-
Protect Family Homes
Too many Philadelphia families face challenges protecting inherited homes because of tangled titles and complicated legal processes. I want to strengthen the Register of Wills’ existing Title Clearance Unit, expand partnerships with legal aid organizations, and improve case tracking and follow-ups to help more families establish clear ownership and preserve generational wealth.
-
Advocate to Make Inheritance Affordable
The cost and complexity of transferring property after a loved one’s death can create serious financial challenges for working families. I want to advocate in Harrisburg for simpler property transfers, more affordable probate, inheritance-tax relief, and stronger protections for inherited family homes, so families have a better opportunity to keep what generations before them worked to build.
-
Protect Families Against Fraud
Families deserve confidence that their loved ones’ final wishes are respected and their inheritances are protected. I want to strengthen safeguards against fraudulent wills, forged signatures, and improper estate administration through effective document verification, staff training, and coordination with the courts and appropriate agencies.
-
Estate Planning for Families
Every family deserves access to the tools and information needed to plan for the future. I want to bring wills and estate-planning education directly into our neighborhoods through libraries, recreation centers, senior centers, and community organizations, while connecting residents with affordable legal assistance to help prevent future tangled titles.
-
Modernize the Office
Government services should be accessible, organized, and efficient. I want to modernize the Register of Wills by improving digital records, case management, online services, and communication so families can navigate probate and other services with greater ease, transparency, and confidence.
-
Accessibility & Accountability
Navigating probate and government services shouldn’t add unnecessary stress to families already dealing with difficult circumstances. I want to make the Register of Wills more accessible, responsive, and efficient through clearer guidance, improved processing and case tracking, better communication, and greater transparency about how we’re serving our neighbors.
